Multicast Media continues to innovate by adding software to enable interactive webcasts over its streaming media satellite network
Multicast Media broadcasts in IP Multicast format to the edge of the Internet, where its network of high-speed access providers delivers streaming media content to their broadband subscribers. By using a satellite-based infrastructure, the Company bypasses the congestion of Internet landlines, which prevents content providers from delivering true multimedia content. eXstream Solutions creates and integrates live and on-demand audio and video with the latest in web hardware and software technologies to create unique interactive experiences. The Multicast Media Network currently webcasts over 400 video and audio streams from providers around the world. Using eXstream's software solutions, Multicast Media's services to its customers will now include interactive capabilities such as message boards and chatrooms, which will run concurrently with the streaming media broadcasts. Multicast Media will also use eXstream Solutions in the development of the look and feel of the Company's corporate and education content broadcasts.Multicast Media debuted the service on Friday evening, September 8, 2000, webcasting Glacia Robinson, live, in "Sekelela (Rejoice) Zambia's Orphans," a concert which benefited a proposed orphanage in Zambia. The live webcast was enhanced by a revolving display of photographs from Zambia enabled by eXstream software.
